Patients often decide to undergo this type of surgery for various reasons. Cosmetically, the patients may wish to reduce and reverse signs of aging and thereby improve their overall perception of themselves as well as their own personal confidence. On the other hand, some patients have suffered facial trauma or a facial disease process with resultant deformity and require surgery to improve their function and wellbeing.

Facelift

With age, changes occur in facial features. The effects of gravity, volume loss and tissue strength cause the skin to sag, creating wrinkles. Facelifts are often performed to tighten facial tissues and musculature, eliminate excess skin and fat, thereby achieving a smoother skin. Most commonly, this procedure is performed on patients between their 4th and 7th decades.

Blepharoplasty

This form of eyelid surgery is performed to eliminate drooping upper eyelids and bags and circles of the lower eyelids. This gives the patient a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Often performed under local anesthesia, blepharoplasties may have long-lasting positive results.

Rhinoplasty

This procedure is performed to repair the function of the nose or to reshape the external appearance. Frequently the nasal bridge is straightened, and the tip and width of nostrils are narrowed. This procedure can address longstanding problems, often with improved nasal airflow.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that changes and improves the position or shape of the external ear. It is performed to correct protruding ears in children, frequently around the age of four or five. However, this procedure can also be performed in adults at any age, with similar beneficial results.

BOTOX® Cosmetic Injections

Botox is a medication derived from a bacteria, Clostridium botulinum, and is injected into the face to temporarily paralyze facial musculature. This procedure can reduce facial wrinkles and creases, frown lines and crow’s feet. Results can last between 3 to 12 months – thereafter repeat injections are necessary to maintain the improved facial appearance.

Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are FDA-approved medications that can be injected into the deeper tissues of the skin to plump up and fill in facial wrinkles, lines or deformities. The results last often between 6 months and two years, depending on the product used. Fillers can be injected in conjunction with Botox for maximal positive cosmetic results.
